Running an Excel Macro from a Graphic

These days running a macro off a control button seems to be old school and many people have started running macros off graphics.

This is probably because buttons on websites now have a more sophisticated look and people want to replicate that look in their spreadsheets.

There are many formatting options for graphics in Excel and you can quickly and easily create professional looking buttons – see example below.

When a graphic is selected, the Format ribbon tab provides many professional formatting options.

It is easy to run a macro off a graphic in Excel. Simply right click the graphic and select Assign Macro.

The available macros are listed as per the dialog below.

Select a macro and click OK to complete the process. Clicking the graphic will run the macro.
