Not sure when it happened, but a recent update to Excel has enabled the IFERROR function to handle spill errors.
In the image below cell A2 has a SEQUENCE function that is creating a vertical sequence of 10 numbers. Cell B2 is referring to cell A2 and doubling the value. It also includes an IFERROR function.
If we cause a spill error in column A, you can see that the formula in cell B2 doesn’t have the spill error. It displays 0.
You still need to remove any entries in the spill range to remove the initial spill error but at least other formulas that refer to a spill range can now be handled a little bit more elegantly.
