I was recently updating some Word-based templates, and I remembered how clunky it is to paste from Word to Excel. Here is a short tip to make it easier.
I am not a fan of Word, but I use it regularly for my writing.
Recently I was updating a series of Word templates, and I decided to collect the information in a table in Excel for future use.
When I copied from Word and pasted to Excel, I was reminded of how painful it can be.
The image below has an example of what I was copying from Word.

The grey highlighted text was copied.
In the image below you can see the result in Excel when I pasted in cell A1.

As you can see the bullet point are split between rows.
That isn’t what I wanted. I wanted all the text in cell A1.
Solution
If you are trying to get the text in a single cell, click in the Formula Bar and Paste – problem solved – see image below.
